Training in the methods and techniques of academic pedagogy

In order to provide a support to teaching profession, INSA Lyon doctoral students who carry out a teaching activity during the preparation of their thesis, and who could exercise the profession of assistant or associate professors in the future, can follow a training in academic pedagogy. This training, lasting a total of 20 hours, is provided by the Support team for teaching, digital and learning techniques "Atena" of INSA Lyon, and is scheduled over 3 sessions between the first year and the 2nd year of the thesis. This training is an introduction to the teaching activity and aims to bring doctoral students an understanding of the profession of university teacher and to develop professional skills essential to exercise this profession. To meet these objectives, the Atena team offers in this training program a panel of workshops encompassing the different skills of university teacher: course design, classroom management, use of pedagogical scenarios, use of digital tools for pedagogy, etc. These reflective and interactive workshops are based on researches in academic pedagogy and on the exchange of pedagogical practices. The validation of the training is obtained by the participation of the doctoral student in the 3 sessions of the training and the presentation of feedback based on his own practice and inspired by the workshops experienced during the training.

This training is recognized up to 20 hours by the doctoral schools.
